Just in time for back-to-school and recruitment!
I've partnered with North Carolina company All That JAS for a great giveaway where one lucky winner will win their choice of Greek-lettered OR monogrammed tee!

I've been an All That JAS customer ever since I joined my sorority freshman year. In fact, I ordered my very first Greek-lettered shirt from All That Jas! My parents also gave me two All That JAS Greek-lettered sweatshirts for Christmas a few years ago that I absolutely love (I would post photos of the lettered apparel they've made for me, but I'm currently disaffiliated from my sorority for fall recruitment)!
Based out of Elon, NC, All that JAS creates high-quality applique Greek-lettered shirts, and although I've never purchased a monogrammed tee, I'm sure they are superb as well. They have an array of fabric options to create the perfect combination for your lettered shirt, even designer fabrics from Lilly Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, and Vera Bradley! See all their fabrics here.
All That Jas also has a great selection of Greek gifts, paddle supplies, Greek jewelry, and Lilly Pulitzer accessories. I love their gift packages - perfect for Big/Little reveal! Visit their site to see all they have to offer!
If I could win my own giveaway, I'd choose a navy tee with Vineyard Vines "Pink Pineapple" Greek letters with a white border! I'll treat myself to this once I'm re-affiliated with my sorority!

True to Tri Delt

As many of you may know I spent my college years reppin the Silver, Gold, and Blue as a member of Delta Delta Delta. You might also be aware that I have a large obsession with frozen dairy products: fro-yo, ice cream, sorbet, sherbet, snoballs, the likes I love them all. My obsession tends to get a bit out of control when I am stressed, bored, or really anytime I eat a meal ;). This problem was miraculously solved when Badgerland College installed a soft-serve ice cream machine in the Caf.... woah dawg it got a little out of control.

One night while eating dinner with my extended Delta family it occurred to Sassy Sister that the machine was broken and what were we to do for our ice cream? So I suggested Sassy Sister and I hit up the froyo place after Chapter because really what else is there to do after chapter? ( certainly not homework) Thus began a month long love affair of dairy dates with Sassy Sister, which led to the pass down of a seriously sassy leopard print letter shirt that I loved dearly.

Sassy Sister!
Yesterday, I was dying for some delicious frozen treats and asked almost everyone I know to go to a look cool spot for some treats however everyone was busy :( So just for old time sake I text messaged Sassy Sister and explained my dilemma to her. In response I received this lovely little photo message:

I was obviously shocked to receive this message and found out that Sassy Sister had just pulled into her local fro-yo shop as I texted her! What a coincidence! Just goes to show true minds think a like or that sisters really like fro-yo!

Peace and Blessings,

America... Love it or Leave it.

Hey y'all,
So I know its a little past the actual Fourth of July but really when is ACTUALLY too late to celebrate our fine, outstanding nation.  Now if you know me on any sort of personal level you will know that I have deep, undeniable, boarder line obnoxious love of America. (Rocket Scientist, Cash Money, Lil Sis, Braidster and especially Going to Heaven can attest to that ). I spent most of the Fourth of July watching a tractor parade and drinking Coors Light with Cash Money and Future Senator.  When the 108 degree heat finally got to us we went our separate ways. I ended up drinking fine margs with Mamacita and Rocket Scientist/Future Senator's parents that evening.  It was a true blessing to spend the day with so many of the greatest people I know. Without further ado I will bless y'all with all the reasons that the Fourth of July is Better  than Christmas

1. Fireworks
2. It is SUMMER not Winter
3. It is unacceptable to drink too much at Christmas dinner .... however the family 4th picnic... fair game

5. The food is AMERICAN and great
6. You get to wear an outlandish American outfit to actual event (not just to a pre Christmas sweater party)
7. American centered Power Ballads. (that needs no explanation)
8.Beer. lots of it.
9.It is only celebrated in AMERICA
10. Fireworks.

Hope y'all find that to be hilarious and delightful.

Peace and Blessings,
kjo

Livin the Dream

Many moons ago at the beginning of this blog I did a post on the essentials of being a summer camp counselor and I thought since it is in the dead heat of summer camp season I would do a little revist to what exactly are the essentials of summer camp fashion!
I have spent quite a few summers living in the woods being a baller... aka a camp counselor and well they were some of the times of my life. SO I got a little bored and decided to look up some of the essentials of being a camp counselor in case any of you were considering the greatest profession in the world out there.First lets start off with your outfit. A perfect tshirt to wear EVERYDAY is a Hanes White V-Neck tee much like this:
they can be purchased at places like Wal-Mart and Target in a multi-packNow lets talk about the perfect sports bra... this is crucial  because its hot and gross outside all day
.
perfection. Now let's talk about your bottom. Shorts are essentially and these Nike Tempo Shorts are the best:
they even have built in underwear!
It is also completely appropriate to wear a Greek tshirt if you run out of v-necks because lets get serious what other kind of tees do you own... right MOH?

so many choices its hard to choose.
Camp appropriate footwear is hard to come by if you are not wearing Chacos on your feet and this pair is just SOOOO darn cute, I tots wish these had been out when I bought my Chacos.
Staying hydrated is an absolute must during the hot, summer, sun so a cute water bottle like this Nalgene is essential:It is also essential to have something durable to tote your stuff around in all day but isn't too cumbersome. I have been using North Face's Roo for years but the Roo II is also worth checking out!!!!
Protecting yourself from the sun is a must so awesome shades are must!!! Big, bold, and ridiculous sunglasses always worked well for me. I was a particular fan of this style but some of my coworkers opted for the Aviator style of sunglasses because they felt more bad ass that way. Your pick.
As a counselor you will have to always be on time, which is why you will need a bad ass water proof watch. Preferably digital because you WILL become soooo exhausted that it is impossible to tell time any other way. A cute one like this would be perfect!

I hope y'all are catching the drift that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color pink no matter what I am doing. And no matter how dorky it may seem a good headlamp is essential if you want to see where you are going in the dark.  And trust me you will want some light on those long night hikes to your cabin or you will have nasty scars like I do from falling over stumps and rocks.
Last but not least you will need a smile but that should be no problem to produce because you WILL be having the time of your life if camp counseloring is your thing:
I wish everyone the BEST of summer, whether you are a camp counselor past or present.... or have ever been curious!
Peace and Blessings,
kjo

Crafternoon Delight

Hello Bloggies!
As many of you know I graduated college almost two (eek!) months ago and have been diligently searching for a job, reconnecting with old friends, cleaning out my childhood, and working at Not Starbucks. In my free time in between searching for the perfect future classroom I have spent a lot of time on Pinterest.  Now, many people believe that Pinterest is a giant waste of time, and I'm not going to lie I spend way to much time pinning things I will probably a) never cook b) never craft or c) never wear anything close to BUT it is so much fun I can't help myself.  Regardless of all of the things I will never accomplish via Pinterest I have learned a plethora of things have revolutionized my life.  For example, the at home gel nails, already helping me kick my ugly habit. Slutcake recipe? A favorite to anyone who dares take a bite, and a major stress reliever to the residents of APT 201 (including the Braidster, who by the way needs to come home from EuroTrip2012).  Today even I learned that if you have a sore throat (which I currently am combating like the Civil War) it is a good idea to chew and swallow several marshmallows... BOOM HALLELUJAH it does in fact dull the pain for a bit... it has to do something with the gelatin inside of them.  I am no rocket scientist that is Iggy or nurse that is Cash Money but I do have to say it did work.
With that being said I spend most of my time pinning to my Crafternoon Delight board a hilarious tribute to my days as an active member of Tri Delta and a reference to Anchorman.  I have am currently working on a gorgeous jewelry box that will be posted once it is finished and I have precious glitter jars drying in the kitchen.  Anyway I plan on keeping y'all updated on my pinteresting ways and we shall see if that becomes anything significant.  With that being said the oven is dinging and my future as a bad ass cake pop aficionado is about to begin, but more about Baby Cakes INC to follow.
Peace and Blessings,
Kjo

The Nail in the Coffin

As many of you know I have quite the obsession with my nails. Whether, it is from nail polish shopping to constantly painting them, or the ever obnoxious nail biting, I am obsessed with my nails.  I am really trying to work on not biting my nails, and I think I might have found the solution.  Part of my problem is working at Not Starbucks Coffee House because I am often washing dishes and doing all kinds of things that cause my nail polish to chip and crack. About two months ago I found this pin on pinterest http://pinterest.com/pin/135178426285741771/, and I have spent the past two months trying to find Nutra Nail Five Minute Nail Gel.Well the verdict is in. This process is phenomenal, it certainly doesn't beat getting your nails done at the salon but it is great for in between and for when you are living on the cheap! I give this pinteresting tip a 5/5! So now get to the store and start doing your nails ladies! PS I use Essie 10 Day No Chip Top Cover and it works like a dream!
Peace and Blessings ,
KJo
